In the last 100 years, a rise in the global mean temperature has been noted, and projections show even higher temperatures in the future. The temperature rise can lead to changes in the weather patterns and therefore the thunderstorm activity in a future warmer climate has been investigated in this study. The future projections were made with an ensemble of 8 General Circulation Models downscaled with the regional climate model RCA4, developed at SMHI. Temperature and humidity data at four different levels in the atmosphere has been used to compute three different stability indices.
