<p>IL-12p40<sup>−/−</sup> (n = 10), IL-12p35<sup>−/−</sup> (n = 10), IFN-γR<sup>−/−</sup> (n = 10) and C57Bl/6 (n = 5/experiment) (wild type, WT) mice were intranasally infected with 50 CFU/25 µl SchuS4. Beginning on day 3 after infection, mice were treated once daily with 5 mg/kg LVF diluted in 5% dextrose water for 14 days. * = p<0.05 compared to untreated mice and LVF treated IL-12p40<sup>−/−</sup>, IL-12p35<sup>−/−</sup>, IFN-γR<sup>−/−</sup> animals. ** = p<0.05 compared to all other groups of mice.
