Vaginal PMNs post-inoculation.

<p>PMNs identified by pap smear preparations of vaginal lavage fluid from uninoculated or inoculated wild-type, IL-23p19^−/−, IL-17RA^−/− and IL-22^−/− mice with high PMNs were examined at ×400 magnification and enumerated per microscopic field. High PMNs were defined as ≥50 PMNs/field; low PMNs were defined as <25 PMNs/field. The results are cumulative for 3 separate experiments (1 experiment for IL-17RA^−/−) with 7 to 10 mice per group. Statistical analyses were performed comparing PMN values between low PMN and high PMN groups. **, p<0.01; ***, p<0.0001. SEM, standard error of the mean.
