Growth of <i>C. albicans</i> wild-type, mutant and complemented strain, and <i>S. cerevisiae</i> wild-type and mutants in medium with several stress agents.

<p>(A) Serial 10-fold dilutions of YPD overnight cultures of the strains were spotted on YPD plates without or with 100 µg/ml congo red, 70 µg/ml calcofluor white, 30 ng/ml caspofungin, 10 mM caffeine or 0.0035% SDS and plates incubated for 2 days at 30°C. The <i>C. albicans</i> wild-type SC5314 strain (RLM1/RLM1), two independent homozygous <i>rlm1</i> mutants strains SCRLM1M4A and SCRLM1M4B (<i>Δrlm1/Δrlm1</i>), and two complemented strains SCRLM1K2A and SCRLM1K2B (<i>Δrlm1/Δrlm1+ RLM1</i>), as well as the <i>S. cerevisiae</i> haploid wild-type BY4741 (<i>RLM1</i>) and rlm1 mutant (<i>Δrlm1</i>) strains are shown. (B) Effect of the protection of 1M sorbitol in cells treated with Caspofungin.
