Growth of Mediator subunit mutant strains in the GRACE collection.

<p>Cultures of wild type C. <i>albicans</i>, and the mediator subunit mutant strains from the Grace collection were grown overnight at 30°C. (<b>A</b>). Strains were serially diluted and grown on plates under non-repressing (YPD) or standard repressing conditions (YPD+20 µg/ml doxycycline) for 2–3 days at 30°C and the resulting colonies photographed. Cells from wrinkled colonies were observed by microscopy using DIC for bright field or through the DAPI filter for calcofluor white staining. (<b>B</b>). Strains lacking Med7 grow primarily as pseudohyphal cells, as judged by staining with calcofluor white.
