The percentage of MØs engaged in the ingestion of Mtb strains.

<p>MØs were infected with FITC-labeled wild-type Mtb or its mutants, Δ(<i>ku,ligD,recA</i>), Δ(<i>ku,ligD</i>) or Δ<i>recA</i>, for 2 hours (MOI = 1) and washed with HBSS. The percentages of MØs infected with Mtb strains were calculated according to the formula, MØ with bacteria ×100/number of counted MØs, and expressed as means ± SEM (n = 5; *p≤0.04, Δ(<i>ku,ligD,recA</i>), Δ(<i>ku,ligD</i>), and Δ<i>recA</i> vs. wild-type; Mann-Whitney <i>U</i> test).
