GMF, MPP+, α-synuclein and IL-33 induce the release of β-hexosaminidase as an index of mast cell degranulation.

<p>β-hexosaminidase release was assayed from BMMCs as it is as an index of mast cell degranulation (n = 5). BMMCs were (5 × 10⁴cells/well) incubated with GMF (100 ng/ml), MPP+ (10 μM), α-synuclein (5 μg/ml) or IL-33 (50 ng/ml) for 30 min at 37°C and the β-hexosaminidase release was measured in the supernatant media as well as in the cell lysates. Absorbance was measured at 405 nm in an ELISA plate reader. The results were expressed as % release. P<0.05 compared to un-treated control cells. *p<0.05 control vs treated, ANOVA and Tukey-Kramer/Unpaired t test.
