Myokardiale Hypertrophie ist ein wichtiger Anpassungsmechanismus auf viele physiologische und pathologische Stimuli. Sie kann sich zu einer pathologischen Hypertrophie entwickeln, die häufig zu Herzversagen führt. Hypertrophie ist mit einer gesteigerten Proteinsynthese, darunter viele Membranproteine verbunden. Diese Proteine werden im Endoplasmatischen Retikulum (ER) gefaltet und auf ihr Qualität kontrolliert.
