Styrd borrning för vattenledningar enligt nytt system

The residents on Lövängsvägen in Kimstad have had problems with waterleakage since early 1970. Norrköping Vatten decided, after many reparations on the drinking water and sewagesystem, to finally change the main pipeline that provides the 24 households with fresh water. To dig up the approximately 400 meter of street with belonging valves would be an extensive project that would result in many forms of disturbances such as access to water and pass ability for the inhabitants on Lövängsvägen. The method that was applied came to be a new patented method presented by Brimer AB by the name Briband. Briband means that steered drilling, a shaftless method to change water pipes, can be used in combination with new wells with preinstalled valves. Through this performance the disturbances could be avoided and the installation procedure faster. We have compared the Briband system with the conventional method technically to differentiate them. But it is not possible to generally decide which is best since both methods have advantages and disadvantages. However, steered drilling has an environmental advantage because of less transportation needs of soil masses, to and from the construction area. An advantage of having many of the valves collected in a well is that future needs for digging the street up just to reach them, will be eliminated. There will also be the option to cut off the water supply for parts of the street during handling and maintenance, and in this way avoid affecting more than 6 households at the same time. The new wells with belonging valves can be preordered according to the customers needs. The wells are also of closed type, which means that they will easily flood if a leakage would occur. But with preinstalled alarming system in the wells such leakages can be identified. Norrköping Vatten and Stadspartner who will operate and maintain the new system, hope that the future costs in form of control and reparations will decrease compared to the existing system. The ground in Kimstad consists of clay and silt, which with present drill equipment is the right condition to perform steered drilling. Since digging is not needed, the method saves money in form of restoration-costs. An economic calculation of how much it would have cost to accomplish the project through the conventional method has been made. Later we used the calculations to perform a financial comparison between the two methods. Some problems occurred during the project that complicated the process and caused increased expenses. A leakage that came up in relations to the drilling and line pulling was the incident that cost the most, because the leakage led to additional work in form of shafting parts of the street that otherwise would have remained untouched. The total cost for the project ended up a little more that the predicted sum but still considerably less then to perform the project by using the conventional method. The steered drilling was regardless the disturbances that came up during the project, thanks to the areas land condition, the most ultimate method considering the circumstances, both financially and technically. The shaft-less method also gave benefits in terms of time, despite the problems. The interviews with the locals also showed that this method was the most suitable since their experiences of the problems were insignificant and since they were pleased by the work performance in total.De boende på Lövängsvägen i Kimstad har haft problem med läckage av färskvatten. Detta har varit ett återkommande problem sedan 1970 talet. Efter att ständigt ha utfört reparationer av VA-systemet beslutade sig Norrköping Vatten för att byta ut huvudledningen. Den förser de 24 hushållen i området med färskvatten. Den konventionella metoden att utföra ett sådant arbete är att gräva upp den cirka 400 meter långa gatan med tillhörande servisledningar och ventiler. Detta skulle bli ett omfattande projekt som skulle resultera i många störningar i form av begränsad framkomlighet och tillgång till vatten för boende på Lövängsvägen. Metoden som istället används är en ny patenderad metod presenterad av Brimer AB vid namn Briband. Briband innebär att man kan tillämpa styrd borrning, en schaktfri metod att byta ut vattenledningar, i kombination med nya brunnar med förinstallerade ventiler. Genom utförande med detta system skulle man kraftigt minska störningarna för de boende och korta ner installationstiden. Vi har tekniskt jämfört att utföra Briband system och styrd borrning med konventionellt system med schaktning, för att se skillnaderna mellan. Men det går inte att generellt avgöra vilken metod som tekniskt är enklast att tillämpa då båda har sina för- och nackdelar. Däremot har den styrda borrningen ur miljösynpunkt en fördel då man minskar miljöpåverkan genom att man inte behöver transportera jordmassor till och från arbetsplatsen. Fördel med att ha servisventiler samlade i brunnarna är att man i framtiden inte kommer att behöva gräva upp gatan för att komma åt dem samt att man tillgängliggör alla kritiska punkter. En annan fördel är att man vid kontroll och underhåll kommer att kunna stänga av sektioner av Lövängsvägen och på så sätt inte drabba fler än maximalt 6 hushåll i taget med avstängningar och liknande. I de nya brunnarna förmonteras ventiler och dylikt helt enligt kundens önskemål. Brunnarna är dessutom täta vilket innebär att de kommer att översvämmas om ett läckage skulle uppstå. Men med förinstallerad larmsystem i brunnarna finns möjlighet att larma till en driftcentral när läckage uppstår. Det man hoppas på från Norrköping Vatten och Stadspartner, som ska sköta drift och underhåll av det nya systemet, är att kostnaderna för framtida åtgärder i form av kontroller och reparationer ska minska jämfört med de befintliga systemen. Marken i Kimstad består av lera och silt, vilket med den valda borrutrustning är en förutsättning för att kunna utföra arbetet med styrd borrning. Då man inte behöver schakta med denna metod sparar man in på återställningskostnader. En ekonomisk kalkyl av hur mycket det skulle ha kostat att utföra arbetet med den konventionella metoden jämförs med kostnaderna för den schaktfria metoden. Under arbetets gång uppstod ett antal problem som försvårade arbetet och bidrog till ökade utgifter. Ett läckage som uppstod i samband med borrning och ledningsdragning var den incident som kostade mest då denna ledde till tilläggsarbeten som innebar schaktning av delar av vägen som annars skulle förbli orörd. Den totala utgiften för arbetet hamnade slutligen över det belopp man hade räknat med från början men fortfarande betydligt lägre än om man hade utfört arbetet på konventionellt sätt. Trots de problem som uppstod under projektets gång så var det nya systemet och schaktfria metoden den mest ultimata lösningen ekonomiskt och tekniskt tack vare de markförhållandena som gäller i området. Man tjänade också tidsmässigt på den schaktfria metoden trots problemen. Intervjuerna med de boende visade också att denna metod var den mest lämpade då de i ringa grad upplevde problem med störningar och var nöjda med hur arbetet bedrivits
