Els parlars de la Ribera d'Ebre. Estudi geolingüístic

THE FORMS OF LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN LA RIBERA D'EBRE. A GEOLINGUISTIC STUDYBefore describing the aim and findings of this research, some words about the target region are needed. La Ribera d'Ebre is a region located in Terres de l'Ebre, a geographical label used since some time ago to identify the southern regions of Catalonia.The present research focuses on the forms of language spoken in La Ribera d'Ebre. The objectives of this study are to make a linguistic description of these forms of language, by using detailed information and qualitative methods, and to dawn up different maps with the findings. Thus, this research contains a double piece of work: on one hand, it is a dialectological study based on the casual forms of language spoken in La Ribera d'Ebre; on the other hand, it is a geolinguistic study, in the sense that it contains an atlas with 1475 synthetic maps grouped according to different semantic fields. However, the conclusion maps used in the research are not synthetic but they are drawn up using isoglosses to present the findings.Since the main aim of this research is not a sociolinguistic aim , only the oldest generations of speakers were chosen as informants. By doing so, one can make sure that the data obtained is more homogeneous and, furthermore, the findings can give way to futher pieces of research taking different approaches.One of the main objectives of this research is to draw the boundary between two sub dialects: lleidatà and tortosí. Previous atudies on this issue have already concluded that the forms of language spoken in La Ribera d'Ebre belong to the North-occidental dialect of Catalan. However, none of them has gone further to determine to which sub dialect do they belong. According to the present research, it can be concluded that these fo'ELS PARLARS DE LA RIBERA D'EBRE. ESTUDI GEOLINGÜÍSTIC'Dins de l'etiqueta que, d'un temps ençà, s'ha creat per denominar les comarques del sud del Principat - Terres de l'Ebre -, es troba la Ribera d'Ebre.La investigació realitzada s'ha centrat en els parlars que conformen aquesta comarca. L'objectiu d'aquest estudi ha estat fer una descripció lingüística detallada i exhaustiva dels parlars de la Ribera d'Ebre i cartografiar-ne els resultats. Així, el treball es converteix en doble: d'una banda, es tracta d'un estudi de dialectologia que pren com a base el registre col·loquial de la varietat geogràfica del català de la Ribera d'Ebre; de l'altra, es converteix en un treball de geolingüística, en el sentit que ha permès elaborar un microatles lingüístic de la Ribera d'Ebre, que conté 1475 mapes sintètics, agrupats per camps semàntics. Els mapes de conclusions, però, ja no són sintètics sinó que presenten els resultats mitjançant isoglosses. Atès que la finalitat no és sociolingüística, només s'han escollit les generacions més grans de parlants; així s'assegura una homogeneïtat en les dades obtingudes i, a més a més, d'aquesta manera, s'obren dreceres per poder iniciar altres investigacions des d'unes òptiques diferents.Un dels objectius bàsics de la investigació ha estat delimitar la frontera entre els subdialectes lleidatà i tortosí. Que la comarca en conjunt pertany al dialecte nord-occidental ja ha estat constatat per alguns estudis previs, però cap ha anat més enllà i ha delimitat amb precisió a quin subdialecte pertanyen aquests parlars. A partir de la investigació realitzada, es pot concloure que els parlars de la Ribera d'Ebre participen majoritàriament de característiques del català nord-occidental; els trets lingüístics que comparteix amb el valencià són, lèxics
