Informations are given about some Pteridophytes contained in an unpublished manuscript by Vincenzo Carmignani, a XIXth century scientist from Pisa. He describes 17 cryptogamic vascular plants of the province of Pisa and he reports their medicinal and common uses. The manuscript is preserved at the Botanical Museum of Pisa
