Noetical and noematical analysis

This text, wihch is conceived as a historical-critical introduction to Heinrich Rickert's polemical article "The Two ways of the Theory of Knowledge" (Kant-Studien, 1909), is a substantive commentary on the Rickert-Husserl relationship. Discussed topics include: antipsychologism and the view of logic as a normative or theoretical science, theory of obviousness (is obviousness a mere subjective feeling? or is it something else? what is its function in our knowledge procedures?), nature of judgement and truth (what kind of "act" do we perform when we perform a judgement? what is a true judgement? is truth analysable in terms of the correspondance-theory? or is truth a "transcendent" value, which is merely assumed - or not - by the judging agent?), heterological relation between subject and object, etc. Those topics are examined within a broader framework, namely starting from the methodological distinction between "noetical analysis" (or act-analysis) and "noematical analysis" (content-analysis), which can be regarded at some extend as common to Husserl and Rickert.Commentaire de H.
