El artículo analiza el papel desempeñado por la traducción en la configuración de la literatura rusa a partir del siglo XVIII. En su entronque con las corrientes de las literaturas europeas la estrategia inicial fue el recurso a «transposiciones culturales», la apropiación a través de la cultura dominante de la época -la francesa- de obras, temas y motivos de distintas procedencias. A partir del siglo XIX, la traducción en sentido estricto cobra más importancia y contribuye de modo decisivo al Romanticismo ruso. En la primera mitad del siglo XX, este impulso se verá continuado en otra gran etapa del desarrollo literario ruso, el Siglo de Plata, al que sus máximos representantes contribuyeron de modo decisivo también como traductores.The art...
