1990 CGIAR Annual Report

After a hiatus of a year, the series of CGIAR annual reports resumed in October 1991 with an issue in a slimmer format, covering financial information and other developments during 1990. The introduction was written by Executive Secretary Alexander von der Osten. A chapter titled 'New Directions in the CGIAR' discusses the integration of natural resource management alongside productivity as 'twin pillars' of CGIAR-supported research, and the Group's expansion to sixteen centers in 1990 with the addition of ICRAF, IIMI, and INIBAP, and with further growth in prospect.In a following chapter Leslie Swindale reviews sustainability issues being addressed by IARCs. The final chapter describes the CGIAR's funding and expenditures in the period from 1986 through 1990, including allocations by center, program component, and commodity.
