The Interprofessional Association of Agriculture, Agro-industry and Communication (known as Agrocom) was set up as a registered public utility on 24 November 1994 in Douala (Cameroon). Its goal is to organise the non-traditional sectors involved in such products as bananas, plantain, pineapples, onions, beans, potatoes, cassava and cut flowers. It is currently working on a communication programme and hopes to give a boost to the country s agricultural economy through a series of meetings of elected representatives, private business men and women, members of the liberal professions, leading civil servants and traditional Cameroonian chiefs in major agro-ecological areas.
