Joel Katzav has argued that the Principle of Least Action, one of our most fundamental physical principles, plays an explanatory role in the evolution of our physical system incompatible with Dispositional Essentialism. Although Brian Ellis (2005) responds to Katzav’s objection, his response relies on non-natural properties, and we feel the principle deserves a natural explanation. In light of this we look to Bird’s (2007) version of dispositional essentialism, and ultimately argue that his account can, on close inspection, provide an adequate explanation of this crucial global law that falls out of the natural properties of particulars
