PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN KULIT ARI BIJI METE (Anacardium occidentale) DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PENAMPILAN PRODUKSI DOMBA LOKAL JANTAN

Feeds were important factor in the farm animal include sheep. Concentrate as feed supplement absolutely needed in sheep maintenance, but it have a high price and need new feed matterial to subtitute the concentrate with low economic value. One of feed matterial was testa cashew, it has high protein and high digestibility. Based on these potential factor, testa was used to subtitute concentrate. This research was aimed to know the effect of testa cashew on male local sheep production performance. It was held on September 25th untill Desember 3th , 2007 in agriculture faculty experimental pens in Jatikuwung – Karanganyar. Experimental design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one way classification, consist of 4 treatments (P0,P1, P2, and P3), 3 replications, each repication consist of one sheep. The treatments were P0 (70% King Grass + 30% concentrate), P1 (70% King Grass + 25% concentrate + 5% testa), P2 (70% King Grass + 20% concentrate + 10% testa), P3 (70% King Grass + 15% concentrate +15% testa). Research got data indicate that average from third kinds of treatments that is P0, P1, P2 And P3 for the consumption of feed were 703,07; 771,26; 739,09; and 782,60 g/head/day, crude protein consumption were 94,67; 104,49; 100,99; and 107,67 g/head/day, Average Daily Gain (ADG) were 36,31; 44,05; 39,28; and 44,64 gram/head/day, feed convertion 24,34; 17,54; 18,98; and 17,56 and Feed Cost per Gain were Rp 37.283,67; Rp 25.753,56; Rp 26.671,09; and Rp 23.566,33. Varians analyze showed that testa cashew utilizing untill 15% in level was not gave significant effect on male local sheep apearance. Untilizing 15% testa in ration showed lowest feed cost.
