DIALECTICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MALAYANSAMBAS AND PONTIANAK IN KALIMANTAN BARAT

Malayan language is a regional language that is used by Malayan people who live in Kalimantan Barat. It is spoken by both Pontianak and Sambas people. However, Malayan language of Pontianak is different with Malayan language of Sambas in their pronunciation and vocabulary. In relation to the phenomena about the vocabulary and pronunciation differences between pontianak and Sambas dialect, the writer investigated this topic. The problem was investigated in this study is the differences between Pontianak and Sambas Malayan dialects in Kalimantan Barat focusing on vocabulary and pronunciation. The instrument of this study was observations in order to get the data from the informants, the observation was used to know the condition and the relationship of the society in Sambas and Pontianak in using the dialects. After collecting the data, the writer analyzed the data and classified the data based on the problem. The complete data was analyzed based on the researcher problem. The finding were (1).
