Inheritance system in Batak is using patrilineal system. Because of that, men are the only one who have the inheritance right of their parents's property, meanwhile, the women side have no right of it. But, along to the improvement in this century, the society in Batak no longer use the patrilineal system in distributing their property, especially in Girsang Sipangan Bolon Subdistrict. It is supported by the explanation given by respondents who are the daughters in their family. They have accepted the inheritance of their parents, in which those properties are being given to the heir in form of bequest and grant. This alteration in the Batak's tradition of inheritance is influenced by some factors. Such as, social change in the way of life...
