R factor = 0.038; wR factor = 0.107; data-to-parameter ratio = 10.2. The title molecule, C10H9NO, is almost planar with an r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms of 0.0115 Å. In the crystal, molecules are connected through N—H O hydrogen bonds into chains running along [021]. The chains are further connected via C—H interactions, forming layers in the bc plane.
