diversity and distribution of mangroves on small remote islands are rarely performed than on the coastal area and estuaries. Tambelan Islands is a cluster of small islands isolated in the Natuna Sea. Research on 23 islands in this site indicated that 11 islands covered with mangrove. Bruguiera gymnorrhiza grows on five islands, while Bruguiera sexangula grows on one island. The successful growth of B. gymnorrhiza associated with its success in reproduction, competition, and adaptation. Both two species grow on tidal area between the middle-to upper inundation; grow well on the white sand or muddy sediments, which protected from sea waves by a bay, strait, coral reefs and other mangrove species, especially Rhizophora stylosa and R. apiculata.
