The Town of East Gwillimbury, Ontario is located in the north western portion of York Region; one of the fastest growing areas in Canada. East Gwillimbury’s population is expected to experience a nearly five-fold increase between now and 2031. The next ten years to 2018 is a critical period. The community must generate sufficient growth momentum while ensuring that growth is managed effectively leading to a sustainable community. The paper presents East Gwillimbury’s comprehensive Water and Wastewater Conservation Strategy that is central to the sustainability goal.
