The bulk of the collection consists of letters and Red Cross correspondence forms sent by Max Daniel in Berlin to his wife Kaete (née Weisz) and son Ludwig in London, later in New York, from 1939-early 1943. Related to this correspondence is a list of Kaete and Max Daniel's possessions prepared for emigration (Umzugsgut). The remaining items include a couple family photographs, some of Ludwig Daniel's curricula vitae, materials from Kaete and Ludwig's emigration to the United States, and some bank statements related to restitution.Peter SchneiderThe Daniel family was from Stettin (now Szczecin, Poland).
