‘Leftovers ’ is a research project focusing on some unexpected approaches to design methodologies. Routine approaches to design are challenged when ingredients from the process are unavailable or removed. To date discarded manufacturing materials have been transformed into fashion ideas- utilising a range of processes, including draping, jigsawing, laminating, bonding and juxtaposition. The concept of ‘leftovers ’ is dependent on the materials that are left over from production and manufacturing. This has focused on waste from clothing and accessories but could be ‘anything’.
