Abstract: Current VR technologies are bound to the stimulation of the five human physiological senses. This paper discusses the state of the art of current Virtual Reality (VR) systems and highlights their barriers and problems. The focus will be on stereoscopic display technologies and interface technologies. We will give insights in the trends of new VR technologies which we identified within VIEW of the Future1 and INTUITION2 and provide some suggestions to improve current VR systems
