The current trend in the construction industry is to build better, faster, and more cost-effectively. Accomplishing this requires the job to be fast-tracked through a team-based approach, such as design-build. This trend requires managers to solve tasks with various team members. These demands exacerbate the need for construction project managers to have “soft skills, ” such as communication and conflict resolution, in addition to “hard skills ” such as means and methods of construction.
