Betydelsen av (var)andra : En kvalitativ studie om entreprenörsanställdas upplevelser av socialt stöd

Due to overall changes in the labor market, companies today increasingly seek flexibility and efficiency with the aim of meeting the changing needs of the market. This flexibility creates new forms of work, including outsourcing of work to other companies, so-called subcontractors. This form of work creates a triangular relationship between the entrepreneurial employee', subcontractor and customer organization. This triangular relationship can however lead to psychosocial consequences. The way in which work is organized affects, among other things, the possibility of social relationships and social support. Social support interacts with the psychosocial work environment and thus becomes an important aspect of looking into such forms of work. The purpose of the study was to investigate and create a deeper understanding of entrepreneurial employees' experiences of social support at work, focusing on; how describe entrepreneurial staff social support from management, how describe entrepreneurial staff social support from colleagues and what obstacles and opportunities for social support that can be identified. A qualitative method was used that included interviews with seven entrepreneurial staff. The result indicates that entrepreneurial employees experience relatively good social support from both the management and colleagues. On the other hand, there are some shortcomings when it comes to management support, such as information and emotional support. The result also showed that the physical distance between each other and the size of the organization was identified as impeding in the creation of social support. It was the good relations between the colleagues that enabled adequate social support. På grund av övergripande förändringar på arbetsmarknaden eftersträvar företag idag i allt större utsträckning flexibilitet och effektivitet med avsikt att kunna matcha marknadens skiftande behov. Från flexibiliteten har således nya arbetsformer slagit rot, bland annat att exponera arbetsuppgifter till annat företag, så kallade underentreprenörer. För den anställde innebär denna arbetsformen att ett så kallat triangulärt förhållande mellan följande tre parter uppstår; underentreprenör, entreprenörsanställd och kundorganisation. Detta triangulära förhållande har visat medföra psykosociala konsekvenser. Sättet att organisera arbetet påverkarbland annat möjligheten till sociala relationer och därmed ett socialt stöd. Det sociala stödet samverkar med den psykosociala arbetsmiljön och blir således en viktig aspekt att se närmare på vid sådana arbetsformer. Syftet med studien var att undersöka och skapa en djupare förståelse för entreprenörsanställdas upplevelser av socialt stöd i arbetet, med fokus på följande frågeställningar; hur beskriver entreprenörsanställda socialt stöd från chef, hur beskriver entreprenörsanställda socialt stöd från kollegor och vilka hinder och möjligheter för socialt stöd kan identifieras. Metoden som användes för studien var kvalitativ som inkluderade intervjuer med sju entreprenörsanställda. Resultatet tyder på att entreprenörsanställda upplever ett förhållandevis bra socialt stöd från både ordinarie chef och ordinarie kollegor. Däremot förekommer vissa brister när det kommer till chefsstödet, så som vid information och vid ett emotionellt stöd. Resultatet visade även att det fysiska avståndet mellan varandra och organisationens storlek identifierades som hindrande i skapandet av socialt stöd, det som möjliggjorde socialt stöd var relationerna kollegor emellan
