Abstract

A particularly simple and natural model of axion monodromy in type IIB string theory is presented that allows for full quantitative control throughout many axion windings. It is based on a deformation mode of simple double-throat geometries with mass scale that is exponentially suppressed both with respect to the Planck scale and the mass scale of local throat modes. The question whether or not the model allows for computational control also at trans-Planckian field excursion can in principle be answered with a numerical back-reaction analysis for which the stage has been set
