Taking into account the environmental problem that plastic consumption produces in society, together with the demographic explosion that has increased the demand for processed and manufactured products that need to be packaged in polymer-based materials, it was proposed as an objective to know the minimum conditions that must exist to obtain a biodegradable polymer from cassava starch by means of a bibliographic review. The research is descriptive with a documentary design in which the content analysis technique was applied based on the review of specialized literature, such as theses, texts and scientific articles from high impact journals.
