From its origins, the field of International Relations (IR) was clearly influenced by North American and European traditions. Over time, theories, methods, concepts and objects of study imposed by these centers hegemonized the discipline, unequivocally reflecting the visions of the "Global North". As a premise behind the development of this field, the idea-force emerged that only the great powers are capable of shaping -and therefore, thinking- international events.Desde sus orígenes, el campo de las Relaciones Internacionales (RRII) estuvo nítidamente influenciado por las tradiciones norteamericana y europea. Con el paso del tiempo, teorías, métodos, conceptos y objetos de estudio impuestos por dichos centros hegemonizaron la disciplina, reflejando, de manera unívoca, las visiones del “Norte Global”. Como premisa detrás del desarrollo de este campo, emergía la idea-fuerza de que sólo los grandes poderes son capaces de moldear -y por tanto, pensar- el acontecer internacional
