Abstract

Educational resilience is a growing area of research and practice in different parts of the world. In this document, the context in which this valuable concept emerged is described. A working definition of educational resilience and some protective mechanisms that contribute to build resilient schools, teachers and students are also offered. Finally, an example of a program promoting a resilient educational environment is presented. The experienced was developed with 13 teachers from the Santa Teresa de Jesus School, in Cali-Colombia.
