Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common type among women, affecting 2.09 million people worldwide and the fifth leading cause of death according to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). As a form of control, mammography is considered the standard exam for screening and diagnosing the disease worldwide. Technical professionals in mammography play a fundamental role when performing the exam, as they act directly in the acquisition process. Thus, the correct application of the techniques directly affects the result and quality of the mammographic exam.
