Chromosome organization and chromatin mobility are important to DNA metabolism. Among the many DNA lesions that alter the integrity of the genome, double strand breaks (DSB) are the most harmful. According to different studies in yeast, DSBs increase mobility locally, at the damaged site and globally, in undamaged chromatin.During my PhD, I explored how chromatin motion is affected after the induction of random or single DSB(s). In a first study, in which I participated, chromatin structure and mobility were studied upon induction of multiple DSBs induced by Zeocin.
