Análisis contrastivo de las traducciones al español y catalán de The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me de Roald Dahl

The present study is a contrastive analysis of two translations into Spanish and Catalan of a children’s book in English. A multidisciplinary approach adopted to analyse both preliminary norms (external agents to the text), and operational norms (about the text). The study reveals deviations from the original which may help to build the characters’ identify differently in the three books. Furthermore, it is foreseen that the perception of the story will be also different in the three languages.En este estudio se hace una propuesta de análisis contrastivo de las traducciones en español y catalán de un libro infantil escrito originalmente en inglés. Desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar. Se consideran tanto las normas preliminares (aspectos externos al texto), como las operacionales (aspectos relacionados directamente con el texto). El análisis muestra como las desviaciones del original en muchos casos ayudan a construir la identidad de los personajes, la cual difiere en los tres libros; por tanto se prevee que la percepción de la historia por sus lectores también será diferente en las tres lenguas
