Road transport has a very important role, especially in the process of collecting forest products, so we need a good clearing of forest areas, namely the formation of optimal road network. This study was to determine the characteristics bertujuam road transport network for Forest Area (PWH) shortterm as well as the standard way that has been created by IUPHHKHA PT. Sari Bumi Kusuma, Camp Tontang, West Kalimantan. Characteristics of the road network is composed of several parameters, namely: road density (Road Density / RD), the distance between the road (Road Spacing / RS), average skidding distance - theoretical average (MSDo), sard average distance - the shortest average (MSDT), and percent clearing forest areas (E%). The standard way described by the observation of road construction which covers the width of the road and the rise and fall .. The results of the study to the characteristics of the road network PWH short term is: RD = 7.30 m / h
