Reactions of [{Ru(η<SUP>6</SUP>-C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>14</SUB>)Cl<SUB>2</SUB>}<SUB>2</SUB>] (η<SUP>6</SUP>-C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>14</SUB>=p-cymene H<SUB>3</SUB>CC<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>4</SUB>CH(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>) with 4-cyanopyridine (referred hereafler as CNPy) in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios in dichloromethane yields the binuclear complex [{Ru(η<SUP>6</SUP>-C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>14</SUB>)Cl<SUB>2</SUB>}<SUB>2</SUB>(μ-CNPy)] and the mononuclear complex [Ru(η<SUP>6</SUP>-C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>14</SUB>)Cl<SUB>2</SUB>(CNPy)]. The latter complex further reacts with [{Ru(η<SUP>6</SUP>-C<SUB>6</SUB>Me<SUB>6</SUB>)Cl<SUB>2</SUB>}<SUB>2</SUB>] and [Ru(η<SUP>5</SUP>-C<SUB>5</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>)(PPh<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>Cl] to give 4-cyanopyridine bri...
