The effects of climate change and urbanization will increase the risk of flooding in urban areas due to increased precipitation and larger amount of impervious surfaces. Svedala, a municipality in southern Sweden and its storm water recipient Segeå is one area that will be at greater risks in the future. The aim of this study is to compile information about flood risks in Svedala to identify the need for climate adaptation measures regarding flooding. My study shows that there is a need for Svedala to implement climate adaptation measures within many sectors in the municipality, including infrastructure and buildings.
