A study on the effects of plant density on herb yield and quality with two varieties of sorghum x sudanese hybrid

Bu araştırma Bursa koşullarında farklı bitki sıklıklarının sorgum ve sudanotu melezinin iki ot tipi çeşidinde ot verimi ve kalitesine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Genel olarak bitki sıklıkları her iki çeşitte de bazı verim ve kalite özelliklerini etkilemiştir. Bitki sıklıklarının yaş ve kuru ot verimleri üzerindeki etkileri Pioneer 988 çeşidinde önemsiz, Sugarleaf çeşidinde ise çok önemli olduğu saptanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre farklı bitki sıklıklarının Sugarleaf çeşidinde bitki boyu, yaprak sayısı, kardeş sayısı, protein oranlarına etkileri önemsiz bulunmuştur. Oysa aynı çeşitte yaprak ve saplardaki ham kül oranları bitki sıklıkları tarafından önemli ölçüde etkilenmiştir. Pioneer 988 çeşidinde ise bitki boyu, saplardaki ham kül oranlan arasındaki farklılıklar önemsiz; yaprak ve kardeş sayıları ile protein ve yapraklardaki ham kül oranları istatistik! olarak önemli bulunmuştur. Yapılan tek yıllık araştırma sonuçlarına göre Bursa kıraç koşullarında sorgum yetiştiriciliğinde fazla miktarda kuru ve yaş ot verimi almak için Pioneer 988 çeşidinin 6, 10, 14, 18 ve 22 bitki / m2 bitki sıklıklarından her hangi biri ile; Sugarleaf çeşidinin ise 6 veya 18 bitki / m2 bitki sıklığı ile yetiştirilmesi önerilebilir. Ancak daha sağlıklı bir öneri için aynı konuda yeni araştırmalar yapılması gerekir.This study was conducted to determine the effects of different plant densities on hay and hay quality of two herbage type varieties of Sorghum bicolor ( L.) Moench hybrids, in the region of Bursa. In general, different plant populations indicated significant effects on some yield and quality traits of both varieties. The effects of plant densities on fresh fodder and hay were insignificant in Pioneer 988 variety, but significant in Sugarleaf variety. According to the results, effects of the different plant densities on the plant height, leaf numbers / plant, tillers / plant and crude protein content of Sugarleaf were found insignificant. However, in the same variety, crude ash contents were significantly affected by plant densities. Effects of plant densities were found insignificant on plant height and stem crude ash of Pioneer 988 variety, but leaf numbers per plant were statistically affected by densities. As a result, one year research indicated that for sorghum cultivation under Bursa ecological conditions, higher hay and fresh fodder yields could be obtained when Pioneer 988 sown with 6, 10, 14, 18 and 22 plants / m2 densities and Sugarleaf with 6 or 18 plants / m2 density. However for more sound proposals some further studies would be needed to be done in futur
