Alternatives for a better management of construction waste

En temas ambientales uno de los principales generadores de residuos, desperdicios y contaminantes son los proyectos de construcción y obras civiles. Y su principal causa es la falta de planificación en actividades de manejo de residuos previo al inicio de las actividades de construcción y demolición además de la poca información y alternativas para el manejo, reúso y disposición de este tipo de residuos. El principal objetivo de este artículo es investigar las tendencias con relación al manejo de residuos de construcción en diferentes países, revisar la normatividad vigente en Colombia y como se aplica, lo cual se fundamenta la metodología que se desarrolla, exponiendo datos precisos de cantidades de residuos y tipo de materiales en las diferentes etapas de la construcción. Obteniendo como resultado alternativas para el acopio, transporte, manejo y disposición de estos residuos con el fin de planificar el manejo de los residuos desde el ingreso al proyecto hasta su disposición final. Generando opciones que se puedan aplicar a diferentes tipos de proyectos u obras civiles.In environmental issues one of the main generators of waste, waste and pollutants are construction projects and civil works. And its main cause is the lack of planning in waste management activities prior to the start of construction and demolition activities as well as little information and alternatives for the management, reuse and disposal of this type of waste. The main objective of this article is to investigate the trends in relation to the management of construction waste in different countries, review the current regulations in Colombia and how it is applied which is the basis of the methodology that is developed, exposing precise data of waste quantities and type of materials in the different stages of construction. Obtaining as a result alternatives for the collection, transport, handling and disposal of these wastes in order to plan the management of the waste from the entrance to the project until its final disposal.
