Abstract

This study sought to provide a baseline comparison point to the City of Vancouver for the construction of the Georgia and Dunsmuir viaducts, as well as an approximation of several of the end of life options that are possible. This is accomplished by doing a quantity takeoff of the viaducts using a combination of OnScreen Takeoff and Excel. The volumes developed from this were then modelled in Athena Impact Estimator in order to determine the net impact of the construction of the viaducts. In order to model the end of life options of the viaducts were considered; Greenway or Cut and Haul removal. Based on approximated models, Cut and Haul removal was found to have the lower environmental impact. The results should be considered prelim...
