He placed 2nd in the Saskatchewan rodeo. In sports the Zeniths volleyball team placed 4th overall at a recent tournament held at the University of Calgary in which 24 teams participated. The Gr. 9 boys recently attended the PA.R.T.Y. Program at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, (stands for Prevent Alcohol & Risk Related Trauma in Youth.) The trip is for high school students who desire to visit ISRAEL, March 26 - April 6, 1997. Parents are welcome to travel as well. We will spend 10 days in the small country of Israel and covering it extensively. Some places we will visit are Nazareth, Capernaum, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jericho, Acre, Bethlehem, Caesarea, Masada, Tiberias, Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee, and of course the crown of the Middle East "JERUSALEM" The price has been set at $2,550.00 per person. This includes air fare Calgary to Tel Aviv, two meals per day (breakfast and supper), hotel accommodations for 11 days, touring by luxury motor coach with a licensed Israeli guide, and all entrance fees. Personal items must be purchased by the participant. To put the price in perspective, a participant would need to save $14.16 per day from now until we depart. It all came down to 1 game to decide the Big Sky League champic-rts. Nfograth Wolverines and the Lethbndge Slampedens had identical records (5 wins - 1 loss) going into the 1ft y? gamp. The Stampeders scored a TD in the 1 st quarter. Magrath scored <m a 6 yd. run by Ryan Richard« and Tanner Godlontoa kicked the convert and also a Ipt. concession on a punt and the fim half ended with the score Magrath 8- Stampeders 6. The Stamps came out fired up and scored another TD in the third quarter and took the lead. With only 2:34 m the 4th quarter, Tanner- Godlontou threw a pass iv Eten. Wvixl iu the end zone and 20 yards. The corrested TD gave Maaraih the lead 15-12 The Wolverine defence came up strong stopping the Stamps on th© 25 yd fine. On the last play of the game Ryan Richards belted 75 yds. to score another clinching TD. The final score was Magrath 21 - Stampedes 12. It was the first time Magrath has won a conference title, finishing with a 6-1 record. Ryan Richards ran for 165 yds and Ben Wood had 143 yds rushing as well as 30 yds on pass receptions. Defensively, the top tackler was Tylor Johnsen with 12. Adding io the great defensive effort was Jared Kibkermey with S tackles, and Brandon Henderson, Zach Bourne, and Ryan Richards with 7 each. THANKS AGAINH! I This note is to let you know we are safe and sound in Saudi Arabia. The weather is still very warm (35-39). We have done lots of swimming. The boys are doing well and making new friends. Sharon is busy and also making new friends. I will be working with two doctors from Canada, one from Australia, and one from Great Britain. Magrath Zeniths Boys Volleyball These boys are one of the top teams in our area. The Zeniths won 15-10, 15-10, and 15-3. Joseph Jonson & Andy Beres played very well. The J. V.'s lost 15-1 but won their 2nd & 3rd games 15-3 amd 15 - 9, with Brad Wolsey & Joel Heath also playing very well.
