Abstract

The research question addressed in this study is how can one teacher\u27s journey motivate reading resistant boys in a high school setting to read? As a high school reading teacher, I became concerned observing my boy students\u27 resistance towards reading. It was not long before they refused to read. I wanted to discover how to best support and motivate them to read. In this qualitative study, I interviewed three reading teachers and three high school boys, as well as kept a self-reflective journal on my observations.
