Electrophoretic cell activity of buccal epithelium in children with overweight and chronic catarrhal gingivitis

За результатами дослідження були виявлені зміни електрофоретичної активності клітин букального епітелію в дітей із надмірною масою тіла, що свідчить про зниження функціональних можливостей організму дітей і, відповідно, сприяє виникненню запального процесу в ротовій порожнині. ЕФАКБЕ у дітей із надмірною масою тіла, в середньому, складає 27,63±3,4%, що значно нижче відносно дітей групи порівняння (34,11±3,45%). Установлені певні особливості ЕФАКБЕ в дітей із надмірною масою тіла при різних ступенях інтенсивності хронічного катарального гінгівіту. При легкому ступені хронічного катарального гінгівіту електрофоретична активність клітин букального епітелію, в середньому, становить 30,96±2,21%, при середньому - 27,44 ±2,32% (р>0,05) і при тяжкому ступені значно нижче -25,32±2,13% (р<0,05); В результате исследования были выявлены изменения электрофоретической активности клеток буккального эпителия у детей с избыточной массой тела, что свидетельствует о снижении функциональных возможностей организма детей и, соответственно, способствует возникновению воспалительного процесса в ротовой полости. At the basis of the excess body weight in children there are series of metabolic disorders that provoke chronic diseases, among which chronic catarrhal gingivitis is often observed. Shakhbazov found that cells of buccal epithelium can be used as an indicator of local and general disorders of homeostasis of the organism. The aim of the research Major aim is to assess electrophoretic activity of the cells of the buccal epithelium in children with chronic catarrhal gingivitis and overweight. Materials and methods The study involved 94 overweight children of 12 and 15 years old and 98 children with normal body weight (a comparative group). All examined children were divided into 2 subgroups based on the state of periodontal tissues - children with intact periodontal tissues and children with chronic catarrhal gingivitis. Electrophoretic activity of the cells of buccal epithelium was being studied by the V.H.Shahbazov method depending on age, body weight and based on the condition of the periodontal tissues. Results According to the research of the electrophoretic activity of cells of the buccal epithelium of children with overweight, on the average, it was 27,63 ± 3,4%,it was lower compared to children within the comparison group (34,11 ± 3,45%) (p >0,05). The most significant difference was found between children of the 15 years old compared to 12 years old (p 0,05). The most significant difference was noted in children of 12 years old. The certain features of the electrophoretic activity of cells of the buccal epithelium were determined in children with overweight and at the different levels of intensity of chronic catarrhal gingivitis.
