The freight villages systemis increasingly recognized as a net of logistics knots aimed atenhancingintermodalityfreight transport. In the freight village, the cooperation between specialized operators allows the management of high levels of goods flows. In a network perspective, freight villages facilitate both internal relationships and external ones. The freight village thus becomes a central knot of logistics network, supporting the development of local economy focused also on sustainability.
