On the north-western coast of Corsica, Algajola is a citadel founded by the Saint-Georges Bank in the mid XVth century. An excavation in order to preserve the Saint-Georges bastion, permitted to bring to light and ground level a circular tower, probably belonging to the original fortification. This intervention principally brought about the discovery of an homogeneous quantity of ceramics, consisting of local production and imports, essentially Italian, particularly interesting for providing knowledge of the crockery used in Corsica in the XVIth century.Sur la côte nord-ouest de la Corse, Algajola est une citadelle fondée par la Banque de Saint-Georges au milieu du XVe siècle.
