First, I would like to thank my friend Lucia Stacey, who first introduced me to Hundertwasser and his work. When she woke me up at the crack of dawn on that cold October morning in Vienna, I would never have guessed that I was about to discover the topic that would consume a full year of my concentration. Yet, as we strolled down Kegelgasse and began to see a colorful, irregular array of buildings that looked as if they had sprung off of the pages of a Dr. Seuss story, the quirkiness of Hundertwasserdörf immediately sparked my attention and I had to know more about its creator.
