Layered Security of Web-Service Messages in a Cloud Environment

Abstract. Computing had faced several paradigm shifts though its course of maturity and cloud computing is one of the latest trends capturing the market with high speeds. There are quite a few providers in the market and with growing consumer base the area is enriched with new applications, tools and standards. The consumers demand and expectation also increased and they require customizable and configurable services. Web services are an invincible approach to assure the customizable and composite architecture. There were several attacks to the webservices hosted in the cloud using techniques to use the loopholes. In this paper we propose a message level security implemented by Java based application programming interfaces might enforce the security restrictions. We analyze the developments made using web service security and java’s features set to configure them in application environment. We also extend the approach provided by McIntosh et al [3] and use restrictions to secure the approach
