Abstract: In this paper, a case of study about the use of XML standards and computer based tools for the reuse and sharing of learning designs is presented. Authors have defined a process for creating Units of Learning. To this end, different tools have been used to design, plan, orchestrate, control and implement learning activities in an e-learning environment. The paper describes a real case of modeling a teaching-learning process with UML Activity diagrams that are transformed in IMS Learning Design specification format, with the aim of reusing and sharing the learning design of the subject “Management of Information System Development Process ” of the “Master in Computer Science ” at the University of Alcalá, through the virtual campus...
