Abstract:- Heat pumps play the following role with regard to energy: they obtain heat from an environment of lower temperature (e.g. air, water, earth) and transfer it into the building at a higher temperature. Heat pumps can be used for different purposes in building services such as the heating and cooling of buildings or even for ventilation or to produce domestic hot water. This paper proposes to set up a system theory model to facilitate the understanding of heat pumps and define the relations between the various components. These relations describe the connections between certain components and determine the parameters of the components using different decisions and input data.
