ABSTRACT: This paper presents a technique for pressure transient and its derivative analysis for single porosity reservoirs in a class of geological setting that are not amenable to conventional techniques. The application of a fractal model to analyze unsteady state pressure transient data of Newtonian fluids in a heterogeneous reservoir for heterogeneity characterization is considered. The fractal geometry is a very powerful method to describe most complex phenomenon, especially to scale the non-uniformity and non-sequences of heterogeneous porous media.
